      ABSTRACT

The energy independence of Ukraine depends on self-sufficiency in natural uranium, nuclear pure zirconium, hafnium, natural sulfur and elements nuclear-fuel cycle. The country has the most powerful uranium deposit in Europe, but does not develop it with required pace. The same goes for zirconium fuel rod array. Reasons for the lag in the development of deposits and elements of the nuclear fuel cycle are analyzed.
